Slåkkefabrikken, located in the fruit-growing region of Lier, is a subsidiary of Miljø Norge and a key driver of our commitment to the circular economy. Here, we have developed the world’s first automated production line for the recycling of fire extinguishers, which gives tens of thousands of units a new lease on life every month. Through innovation, high quality, and efficient use of resources, we create sustainable value by turning waste into a resource.

Quality is central to everything we do. Each unit is registered, inspected, and documented throughout the entire process, ensuring high traceability and consistent quality in the products we deliver.

From our facilities in Lier, we develop solutions that challenge traditional working methods in the industry. By combining technology, automation, and practical experience, we create new opportunities for the reuse of fire extinguishers.

All fire extinguishers undergo a thorough inspection before being evaluated for reuse. Units that meet the requirements are serviced and recertified, while components that cannot be reused are recycled as much as possible.

By giving fire extinguishers a new lease on life, we reduce resource consumption, waste volumes, and the need for new production. The result is tangible environmental benefits and a more sustainable use of existing resources.
